I’ve been having a BLAST with my self-initiated #DailyYogurt challenge. Every day I try to come up with a fun tasty way to top plain old yogurt using whatever I have in the house. It’s been teaching to me think beyond the grab-able processed snack and find more whole options when I’m hungry.
I made the switch from flavored yogurt cups to tubs of non-fat plain yogurt slowly over the past few years and I LOVE it. Read the rest of this post
Last night was brinner night. The boys absolutely love breakfast for dinner and I welcome the break from worrying about what I’m going to make.
I fry up some bacon, a couple of eggs, make a batch of pancakes, and everyone’s happy.
Normally I’ll eat with everyone but last night I just wasn’t in the mood for breakfast. I happened to have breakfast for breakfast and I really wanted dinner for dinner.
I sat there, staring at the bacon and that’s when it hit me: Read the rest of this post
I was rummaging through the fridge looking for something to eat for lunch when I came across the end of my Chinese 5 Spice Pork Loin. At first was thinking of just cubing it to top a salad, but I just wasn’t in the mood for a salad. I wanted something else. Something ‘sandwichy.’

Sometimes I’ll see a food photo and say,
“MAN Why didn’t I think of that?!”
That’s what happened this weekend when I did a quick google search for butternut squash ideas.
I don’t really search recipes, I search photos. I’ll put the ingredients I want to work with in google and do an image search. Then I just keep scrolling and scrolling until something screams out at me. Read the rest of this post
There’s something you need to know about me: For YEARS I avoided whole chickens. Honestly, I avoided pretty much any meat with bones. If it wasn’t boneless chicken breasts or boneless pork chops or ground meat, I wasn’t buying or cooking it.
I’m not sure why. I guess I was scared of not cooking it correctly. I thought it was time consuming. I thought it was, well, too much work.
Well let me tell you.. Read the rest of this post
