    Ham and Cheese Crescent Roll Ups

    It's post holiday season. You know what that means?

    Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with!

    Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave it at that.

    Anyway I made these on Saturday when I knew I'd have help eating them. My friend's daughter was coming over to babysit and I had to leave her something to eat. I totally forgot to ask her how she liked them, but with 3 missing I'm assuming her answer would be good.

    I thought they were great!

    I got the idea from a Pillsbury commercial I saw a few weeks ago. They rolled up a ham and cheese slice to make a quick dinner. I'm not sure I'd serve them to the family as a main course (they wouldn't eat them anyway,) but they'd be totally a fun finger food for a party or even a quick meal for friends.

    They are also surprisingly light, weighing in at only 125 calories each. The problem for me is stopping at 1 or 2.

    Here's how I made them…

    Ingredients

    • 1 package of Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
    • 4 wedges of The Laughing Cow Light Garlic & Herb Cheese
    • About a cup of Baby Spinach Leaves
    • 4 oz of thin sliced lean deli ham

    Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

    Roll out the crescents and separate into the 8 triangles.

    Now I used The Laughing Cow Light Garlic & Herb Cheese…

    but any flavor would work great!

    Spread ½ of a wedge on 1 triangle.

    Top with a few leaves of spinach.

    Lay 1-2 slices of folded ham (about ½ oz)

    Then roll from the fat end of the triangle just like a regular crescent. Use the tip to "fasten" the roll closed on the bottom.

    Bake for about 12 minutes (just a little longer than a plain crescent) until the top is golden brown.

    I'm posting the nutritional information for 2 as a serving because I think that's realistic. You can always half if you are able to eat just 1, but I doubt it. 😉

      Hmmm these look really good, but I wonder if you could do a casserole with them like your pizza casserole. I'll have to try that!

      This will be perfect for a little get together I'm having. Filling little appetizers that I can split between the 4 of us because I would SO be like "yeah, we can have 4 a piece!" 🙂

      So funny to see this post. My kids saw a commercial for just such a roll-up. So for the past 2 days I've made something similar ... and as you already knew, but I have just discovered I cannot be trusted trusted to keep crescents around. But oh so versatile and delicious!
