I pulled this together for dinner last night for some defrosted salmon fillets but it would be tasty on chicken or pork as well.
I say "from the pantry" on these ideas becuase I only used items that I try to keep on hand. Having a few staples like lemon juice, soy sauce and spices let's me whip things up without having to hit the grocery story on a regular basis. Honestly, I'm a week behind on the shopping. I'll be hitting that pantry hard until this weekend at least!
Here's what I did for our salmon last night. I only made two fillets and then threw the little bit of glaze I had left on the rice. It was yummy!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- pinch or two of salt
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together and smear on salmon fillets.
I then simply cooked on a preheated non-stick skillet with a bit of non-stick cooking spray. They took about 3 minutes a side and came out with a fabulous sweet crust.
That's what happens when you use honey! I love it!
On the side I served mixed veggies and some quick fried rice that I bulked up with onion, zucchini and carrots. It was a fabulous quick meal!

This was fantastic!! I marinated and baked the salmon with the glaze and they turned out wonderfully! Thank you.

I printed it -- and indeed I WAS surprised. It printed a COLOR pic. I'm a tight (poor?) old lady and never print color.
But I liked your page -- and might try your recipe.

Yup. 🙂

So are the WW points for the whole recipe since the serving size varies?
Thanks!

Had that for supper last night and it's now my favorite way to cook salmon! Delicious 🙂

Christine - I normally just pull them out a few hours before dinner and defrost on the counter. If I forget, I submerge them in water in the sink, that speeds up the process.
Hope that helps!

Hi Roni - this dish looks excellent and quick, looking forward to trying it! You mentioned frozen salmon - how do you defrost your fish? I find that even though I have a well-stocked freezer, I don't always remember to take things out in time to defrost for dinner. Thanks! 🙂

That looks beautiful. Hungry now.
I saw a recipe for making salmon with an IRON. Just like making a grilled cheese - wrap in tinfoil and press with an iron. Will try it and let you know. At least no dishes to wash? Although it has been so long since I used my iron, I don't know where it is....
Have a lovely day!

I tried this recipe tonight but because I did not have soy sauce I substituted it with teriyaki sauce. It was so easy and delicious. I loved it! Thanks Roni!

That is exactly how I want my salmon to look! Yums!
