Banana Yogurt Cup

Posted in: Breakfast Ideas, Dessert Ideas, Food Photos | 10 Comments

Breakfast? Dessert? Breakfast? Does it matter? :~)

Inspired by Dani’s Frozen Banana and Cacao Topped Yogurt I wanted to make a fun, fast, lite, low point breakfast this morning. I needed a pick me up and for some reason when I’m feeling a little down and out of sorts, trying something new in the kitchen ALWAYS makes me feel better. Especially when it comes out as yummy as this did!!

I had to use what I had on hand, which was only ½ banana but it worked perfectly for a single serving. You can of course double the recipe for, say, your toddler? Mine however wouldn’t touch the new breakfast idea with a 10 foot pole. Banana Yogurt CupHe just wasn’t in the mood I guess. :~( But I can see this being fun for other toddlers. I’ll make it again when he’s a but more, ummm I mean less grumpy. ;~P

  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup plain non-fat yogurt (57g)
  • 1/2 tbsp chocolate chips (7g)
  • 1/8 cup high fiber cereal (8g) like Fiber One

In a small bowl, smash the banana with a fork. Mix in the yogurt.

If you want to make it look pretty, transfer the mixture using a spatula into a small serving bowl and top with chips and cereal.

    Hi Roni.
Thank you so much!!! You always seem to come through with something wonderful when I need something. My 1 year old has been up since 4:45AM, I’m starving and there’s nothing in the house b.c I have gone shopping yet. I had 1/4 of a banana and WW strawberry shortcake yogurt and it worked. It’s good and it will give me enough energy to hopefully get to the store soon.

Looks interesting. I’ve never eaten Fiber One, though. I just might have to try it. With chocolate and banana, I’m sure it can’t be bad!

Oh yummy! This is just what my grumbling tummy needs this morning. I’ve been up for a few hours already this morning and feeling ABSOLUTELY no motivation. I was trying to understand what my tummy was telling me and I think this is it! See ya later gotta go eat!

I don’t think anything can make those Fiber One cereal pieces look appetizing! hahaha I’m sure it tastes great though!

    Thanks!

Looks good! I love chocolate and banana together. I haven’t tried Fiber One, but I love wheat germ and honey on plain yogurt.

Just had to comment again…this has become my breakfast of the week! I’m addicted! I’ve had it 3 days in a row with different flavors of yogurt everytime. LOL It’s been the perfect, comfort food breakfst for the hot, humid mornings we’ve been having lately! Thanks for sharing! Yumm!

    I love this!
It bumps my cravings and tastes really good.
I used almonds instead of chocolate chips though…
Didn’t have any! And, not a big fan of chocolate
    for breakfast. :/
    Thanks for the idea though!
