Have I been inactive for 8 days? That may be a record! The holiday season hit this year and hit hard. It all started with The Husband's birthday on the 21st. We had his company holiday party out of town, then Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home with the kids, then off to Grandma and Grandpa #1's for the day, then Grandpa and Grandma #2's the next day, then we had the road trip from hell on the way home (serious traffic, diaper blow outs, grumpy kids,) then today I got sick!
Ugh.
Thankfully I'm already starting to feel better. I'm hoping it was just a 24 hour stomach bug.
Needless to say I didn't so much cooking today but I did make a smoothie to ward off hunger pangs when I had no appetite. I hate that hungry-yet-don't-want-to-eat feeling, but this smoothie did the trick and made me feel tons better.
The smoothie was one of the tastiest I've made. The combination of pomegranates and berries is perfect and the banana gives it that smoothie texture while upping the sweetness. Oh! and yes the pomegranate seeds are in there and are very reminiscent to a raspberry smoothie. They don't bother me but I can see some people getting annoyed by the texture.
Here's what I did...
Ingredients
- ½ cup Pomegranate arils (87g)
- ½ rip banana
- ½ cup frozen strawberries (70g)
- ½ Cup frozen blueberries (70g)
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
Instructions
Blend all ingredients together until smooth!
Gotta love easy smoothie recipes. 🙂

Oh! And if pomegranates are new to you check out this old post. Little Guy and I took the leap and tried them about 5 years ago and now we're both hooked!

You could skip the banana and it will still be yummy. I make a smoothie all the time with just frozen blueberries and protein powder with milk.

I am looking for some smoothie recipes and this looks amazing. However, I am seriously allergic to bananas and they are a staple in smoothie making. Do you have any recommendations on what to replace the banana with?

I do! I used it for this and I've had the same one for at least 6-7 years. I really like it and let me tell you, I beat that thing up! lol

Roni - do you still use your magic bullet? if so, how long have you had it? Or what do you use now? Your smoothies always look really good, mine have been kinda chunky lately-my ninja is wearing out. Thinking of switching to a bullet. Thanks!! 🙂

Yum! Made this for breakfast this morning, and had to make a second one for my son. I love pomegranate, so this was perfect! Thank you 😉
