What Came Home?

So I caved and cut the crust off. I was hoping ---as some of you suggested--- that he would actually end up eating more of the sandwich, which he kind of did looking at just one half. In his defense, he rarely eats a whole one so I expected half to come back anyway.
He was quite ecstatic to have the crusts cut off and if it lets me put at least 1 sandwich in his lunch a week without complaint, I'm all for it. I'm not choosing to fight the crust battle. He may have won that one, but I'm still ahead in the overall war of healthy eating. 😉

Pampered Chef sells this circular-sandwich-cutter-tool that I use ALL the time for my son. It makes the sandwich look just like those "Uncrustables" that you can buy inthe store. It cuts the crusts off and then pinches the sandwich all around the seams to keep all the filling inside. He loves his sandwiches this way and it makes PB&Js a lot less messy to eat 🙂

I gave up and starting cutting the crusts off too (back in the day), for the same reason. I threw the crusts in a freezer bag and made bread pudding or stuffing now and again, which used up some of them at least.

I'm mucho impressed. That's a fancy school lunch. And the lunchbox is pretty darn cool, too
