Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt

Published: Jan 31, 2013 · Modified: Oct 16, 2020 by greenlitebitescom · This post may contain affiliate links · 16 Comments

I’ve started a new series on Instragram called #DailyYogurt and this one just needed to be shared on the blog.

It was a filling, indulgent bowl of yumminess!

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.

I would have never thought to combine a nut butter and yogurt until someone asked me if I did. Then I couldn’t get the thought out of my head. All it took was a tablespoon of creamy peanut butter to give the yogurt that wonderful fluff texture. I topped it with the tiniest bit of peanuts for crunch and then the kicker: Chocolate syrup!

When I make something like this I’m always amazed how little you need of each ingredient to be satisfied. If I would have grabbed the jar of peanuts out of the pantry, I easily would have devoured the same amount of calories in seconds and then went looking for something else. Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt

Instead, I whipped up this fun tasty dish, savored it and then had fun licking the bowl.

That’s right, I’m not ashamed. I licked the bowl!

That’s how good it was. Here’s what I did...

  • ½ cup (4oz) Nonfat greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp (16g) natural creamy peanut butter
  •  ¼ oz (7g) Peanuts chopped
  • ½ tbsp (10g) Chocolate Syrup

Mix the yogurt and peanut butter together well.

Top with the chopped peanuts and then drizzle with the chocolate.

Enjoy!

Here's the photo I shared of it on instagram...

Oh, how happy I found you. I have been looking for recipes like this. I was amazed the yogurt folks didn't come up with something like this. I am thrilled with the kale recipes also. I have wanted something different to do with the kale. I haven't been able to stop going through all your recipes since I found this. It is time I get busy with my life though. I just wanted to thank you.

Am I the last person on earth to not have Instagram? 🙁 Apparently you cannot just download it to use on your computer, you have to have a smart phone or ipod in order to use? 🙁

Just finished eating a bowl of this! I used 6 oz 0% Fage, 1 T Earth Balance Crunchy Coconut & Peanut Spread, 1 T PB2, and 10 g of lite Hershey's syrup. It was wicked awesome. Next time I might ditch the regular pb and just do straight pb2 to reduce cals further and then top with a few nuts like you did to get the crunch factor. Thanks for such an awesome idea! The hubs and I both loved it.

Saw this and craved it but we had alot of snow so I used what I had in the cupboard. Missing the chocolate so instead of 1 tbsp of peanut butter I used 1/2 peanut butter with 1/2 of Nutella. Thanks Roni

It's is DELISH. I used chobani non-fat vanilla yogurt and some crunchy almond butter. Not a big chocolate fan so skipped that. This was light and fluffy and really good! A great snack when you need something to hold you over. Thanks, Roni, for another fab idea.

I saw something similar on Pinterest and they used mini chocolate chips instead of chocolate syrup. Sooo good! I have had this almost every afternoon for a week. It gives that "something sweet" I crave mid-afternoon. This is a winner!

I love Greek yogurt with the chocolate PB2! Sometimes I mix those two for an apple dip .... Or mix it and add a mushed up banana for sweetness....yummy! And it does cut the WW points a lot! ( for those who asked, PB2 is a powdered peanut butter with all the fat removed - they have it in regular and chocolate flavor) I buy it in my local Hy-Vee grocery store in the health food department.

YUM!! I love peanut butter with yogurt. I normally mix it with vanilla honey flavored yogurt and dip my apples in it. But I love the idea of peantus and chocolate.
