I was going to call this “You Can Cook Salmon” and just show how quick and easy salmon can be prepared. Then after setting up the camera, I was no where near ready to actually cook the salmon so it became just a complete dinner video.
The title really does say it all. The toddler (who really displays his toddler-ness in the video) and I prepare dinner from start to finish in 13 minutes and 41 seconds. It’s a simple dinner but dinner none the less.

You are such a great patient mom! And you are still able to cook dinner so fast!
I loved Ryan's "broccoli monster returns" act! 😉 And I love broccoli, too!
Jennie's right, the inside of the stalk is actually quite nice. You can also buy some frozen broccoli if you want to skip the preparation time.
Jennie
If you happen to buy the broccoli with a stalk you can peal the rough skin off and the inside is a sweet spear. I used to eat the stalk when my mom would cook 🙂 Ryan may like them:)

Thanks guys!
vickie - I've actually been thinking of a red beans and rice recipe! I'll post when I experiment.
vickie
every once in a while I get hungry for red beans and rice (the kind that you buy as a package at the store). I don't buy the packages any more - because of the SALT - and just mixing red beans and brown rice doesn't cut it. Do you know what the seasonings ARE in those prepackaged mixes that give it that 'red beans and rice' flavor without the salt???

Roni, Just want to say thank you for sharing your time, kitchen, and your darling son with us. You really have inspired me to cook healthy in my own kitchen by reminding me that it does not have to be complicated to be good and healthy! I am so impressed by the foods that I see Ryan eating and enjoying...most kids are not even offered these healthy choices these days. Chips and cookies usually..not broccoli, green peppers and mangos!! Good job to you and thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This video was great. I love how you showed how fast a dinner can be put together in less than 15 minutes. Even with a tired toddler, you did it. 🙂 I'm so making salmon this week now. Thanks for taking time out of your busy day, to show us how easy this can be.

I have to applaud you too! When my DS starts acting like that when I'm cooking dinner, the first thing I do is tell him to get out of the kitchen. 🙂 This looks absolutely delicious!!! I will have to give salmon another try. 🙂

LOL, I love that you have no shame (and you shouldn't!) in letting the world watch you cook dinner and manage a grumpy toddler all at once. Well done. It looked delicious!

So cute!! Makes me want to have babies!! Also, I have to say that I have never been a seafood eater, but cooked your sweet and tangy salmon and I am a BELIEVER. Thank you SO much!
