Taco Night! - The Video

Published: Feb 19, 2009 · Modified: Oct 16, 2020 by greenlitebitescom · This post may contain affiliate links · 14 Comments

My favorite dinner of all time! I've always been taco obsessed. I remember begging Mom for taco night as a kid. I think it's the hands on approach and the ability to keep going back for seconds. 🙂 Whatever it is, nothing beats an easy laid back taco night!

The toddler did not join me for this video. 🙁 However, I snuck a few seconds of him taste testing at the end AND you can hear him playing with the Husband upstairs. He ended up not eating as much tonight as normal taco nights (becuase he's FICKLE!) But what he ate was all good stuff!

Here are the links mentioned s you can have your own taco night...

Love your videos! (And the rest of your sites) I need to do a taco night. Kind of wishing I'd done that tonight! I tend to use Quorn Tenders instead of meat in those things because you can't really tell the difference and it reduces the calories, but ground turkey sounds great too.

    Keep the recipes coming!

We did the beans with salsa (I sprinkled in some chili powder) and our ground turkey tacos. It was enough to make my husband forget about complaining about having ground turkey instead of beef. Thanks

Did you call yourself a vegetable whore?!?! LOVE IT!! One time I was petting some random dude's dog outside of our grocery store and I told him I was a dog whore! My husband said that the guy gave me a strange look but I didn't notice...I was too busy petting the dog 🙂

Hi Roni! I have been coming to your site since starting my journey with weight watchers 3 years ago, and just today decided to finally comment! I just want to let you know how much I love your black beans and zucchini recipe! I am one of those that just puts enough meat on my tacos to get the flavor of the spices, so now I make my tacos with just the beans & Zucchini mixture and I love it! I love your site so much! I have tried several of your recipes and have not ran into one I didn't like!

We have taco night weekly as well and it is NOT a healthy meal for us! I appreciate this video because it did give me a few ideas I might be able to get away with that could be healthier. My husband is not as open to healthy things! I am wondering though about your hard taco shells. I have not found any that low in calories - I could not tell in the video what brand they are, would you let me know? Thanks!

We have Taco Tuesday's at our house every week! It's so much fun and an easy, quick meal to get on the table.

Another great video, Roni! We love taco night at our house too! Recently, I've been making the traditional meat filling for the husband and I use leftover cooked bulgur wheat mixed with beans and veggies for me. It tastes great and its very filling! We also usually eat taco salads with crushed chips on the top to cut back on the higher fat chip/tortilla issue.

"The husband" must not be a very big eater because 6 oz would be what mine would consume on his own. Funny we had taco night last night. I always make a taco salad for myself with baked chips. It is a very easy, cheap, kid favorite meal at our house.
