Simple Clementine Smoothie

Published: Dec 5, 2012 · Modified: Oct 16, 2020 by greenlitebitescom · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

I go through smoothie waves. Some months I'm making them almost daily and then for some reason, I forget to even consider them an option. Normally I rediscover the yumminess when my fridge is empty and I'm scrounging around for a half decent breakfast, like today.

The fridge may be empty but I happen to have a full fruit basket of ripening clementines and bananas. Both of which are not going to last much longer. So I decided a quick, refreshing smoothie was in order. Clementine Smoothie

I kept the ingredients simple. I would have added fresh spinach but, as my empty fridge suggests, I had none.

Here's what I did…

  • 2 clementines peeled and separated
  • ½ rip banana
  • 15 ice cubes (separated)
  • ¼ cup fat free greek yogurt
  • ½ tbsp honey

Put everything in the blender or bullet and process until smooth.

I first blend with 5 ice cubes and then add additional ones once everything liquefies to get to the smoothie consistency I want. Sometimes shoving all the ice cubes in at first is too much for my little bullet to handle. 🙂

Enjoy!
