The other day I was just too hot to eat breakfast. It was humid. I just came home from a run. Sweat was dripping down my face. There was no way I was cooking a damn thing.
Instead I looked to the freezer and found this…
I'm not the biggest fan of throwing all the fruits in the mix into one big smoothie. So instead I separated out these babies…
and focused just on the peaches.
At first I was going to use yogurt but with the fruit being frozen that would be too thick. Instead I went with almond milk and some protein powder to make a creamy drinkable breakfast. Here's what I did…
Ingredients
- 150g of frozen peaches (approx size of a large peach)
- 6oz Unsweetened Almond milk
- 1 Scoop Unsweetened/unflavored Protein powder (like this)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
The resulting smoothie was not particularly sweet. You could add a drizzle of honey or a packet of splenda. I will note, however, I had a hard time keeping the 7 year old from drinking it all on me.
I will also not that the peach garnish once melted dipped into the smoothie was amazing!

Thanks for the recipe I love to make smoothies for me and my son, but have a hard time finding one thats either not made with real milk, yogurt, or fruit juice. My 4 yr old is allergic to milk and juice makes her really sick her tummy cant handle juice at all. She loves almond milk and she does better with frozen fruit rather than fresh fruit. We all will be trying this one

Eliot - Awesome! Glad you liked it!

Barbara - What a nice comment! Thank you so much. I am committed and it's nice when someone notices. I'm glad you find it useful!

Andrea - I didn't and I used my bullet without a problem. The key is to have enough liquid and the 6 oz was perfect.

Lori - I haven't but I'm sure it would work if added to the banana toning it down. I'd try 1/2 a banana and 4-5 frozen peach pieces. I bet it would be amazing!

Thanks for the chuckle with the line.....

Can't wait to try this recipe!!!

This has nothing to do with the smoothie (although it sounds great), but has everything to do with the roasted cabbage you posted about a year ago. I found it via Pinterest and tried it last night. The Hubs was skeptical as well but tried it and told me it was a keeper. I have already shared it with a few others. Thanks!

Such a great idea to use almond milk...most smoothies are way tooooo sweet for my tastes. This is a new favorite!

Wow Roni! This sounds like a perfect summer treat! I don't know why, but I don't really trust that my blender won't break...did you have to cut the frozen peaches up first?!?

Have you ever tried to use frozen peaches for "softserve" like the banana? I've wondered if it would work but haven't tried it. I'm not much of a banana person...
