Banana Berry Smoothie

Published: Aug 27, 2010 · Modified: Oct 16, 2020 by greenlitebitescom · This post may contain affiliate links · 19 Comments

This is my new favorite smoothie, especially after a run. It's quick, tasty and super nutritious! According to NutrtionData.com it's full of Fiber, Vitamin D, Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Protein. Not a bad way to start your day or replenish after a fabulous workout!

Oh! and the little guy loves the stuff! 🙂

Banana Berry SmoothieHere's a write up for those that don't want to sit thru the distracting video. 😉

  • 5 frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries (I used wild) (70g)
  • ½ of a banana
  • 1 scoop of Protein Powder (I use Any Whey)
  • 6oz Almond milk

Place all ingredients in the blender and blend!

Here's the links I mentioned in the video...

The link you posted to any whey says it's out if stock. Do you know of anywhere else to get it?

I don't think they make it anymore. Now I use this… BiPro Whey Protein Isolate

Roni, this was so fun! I stumbled on your site again, and I think I remember you from the beginning of your site actually - so it was so neat to come back here! I love this recipe idea, and I think I will be able to remember it until I get a blender in the near future! Your video was so fun and natural! I loved it! all the best, Jenn

    Stephanie - I actually have 3 that i use. Sad, I know. 🙂

The one in the video is...

Cuisinart BFP-10CH PowerBlend Duet Blender and Food Processor, Chrome and Black

It's ok, not my favorite. Better food processor in my opinion.

    I also have this one...

    Oster Fusion Blender - BRLY07B

GREAT smoothie maker! they also have an attachment you can buy specific for smoothies but I rarely use it.

But honestly what i use the most is my bullet. The only reason why I didn't in the video was because it was dirty. 🙂

Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing System

    Hope that helps!

Sound yummy… I’ve been making home-made smoothies for past few years and our kids love it. Strawberry-Banana Smoothie is one of their favourite one. I have never added an blueberries, but it sounds delicious. Thank you for this tip.

Smoothie looks delicious, Roni! I'd love to be more of a 'smoothie girl'...but my blender smells a little too 'electrical' when I try to blend too much frozen stuff! YIKES! Needless to say, I'm in need of a new blender and I'm wondering what kind you use?!

    Thanks for all you do!

Just recently found your website. Love all your recipes! I am trying to get my kids to eat healthier. I let them watch the smoothie video (we watched the other one) and after they watched it and say your son drinking it up, they both agreed to try it! We are going to make one this weekend!

    Hi Roni,

i love your smoothies! When I was pregnant, my fiance would put a few steamed kale or spinach leaves in smoothies for me for extra vitamins and iron. It didn't make the smoothie taste or look any different.

Ok, so I said the texture gags me, but I have to say, I just made something similar to share with my two boys and it was pretty damn good! I used 6 frozen strawberries, one banana, 1 carton Stonyfield honey mango yogurt, and 8 oz 8th Continent light vanilla soy. The kids liked it, too. =)

I've made this smoothie 3 times now right after my workouts and it is YUMMMMYYY!!!! It almost tastes like a milkshake since it's so creamy! Thanks Roni! 😉

It would still be good.. just won't have that extra bit of creaminess.

Will bad things happen if I don't use the protein powder? lol. I just don't have any and this looks SO good! ( gonna go milk some almonds!)

The texture of smoothies (and milkshakes and pudding, etc) gags me, but I had to watch this anyhow. I was dying laughing when Ryan was doing his wiggle dance. Haha...so cute. My boys, at nearly 12 & 15 still do silly stuff like that, but they won't let me catch them on camera.

Looks yum! I wish they would sell that unflavored whey here, I don't buy it much because of the fake nasty flavors they add to it. But I guess I'll have to, because your guns are way bigger than mine so I should do what you're doing! LOL
