Arnold Palmer-ish Green Tea

Published: May 3, 2012 · Modified: Oct 16, 2020 by greenlitebitescom · This post may contain affiliate links · 6 Comments

I drink water 99.9% of the time but every so often it just doesn't cut it. I want something else. Something more. Something slightly sweet.

Today was one of those days.

I decided to make a refreshing drink based on the famous Arnold Palmer, half lemonade and half iced tea. There was only one problem, well two, I have no iced tea or lemonade.

The iced tea is easy to remedy. Boil some water, soak a teak and dump over ice. For the lemonade I used some jarred juice and a sweetener packet. Arnold Palmer-ish Green Tea

It worked like the charm! The result was a slightly sweet, refreshing beverage. Perfect for sipping while watching TV with the husband. 🙂

Here's what I did…

  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 Splenda packet
  • 2 Green Tea Bags
  • 20 oz boiling water
  • About 30 ice cubes

Dissolve the Splenda in the lemon juice. Add the tea bags and boiling water. Let steep for a few minute the pour over or add the ice cubes.

Enjoy!

I ended up with 32 oz when the ice melted. The whole batch only has 9 calories, 3g of carbs and 1 g of sugar . Not bad when you just don't feel like drinking water!

Thanks for the recipe! I've enjoyed this several times these past couple of weeks and even made it for my son's Shrek-themed birthday party last weekend and called it "Swamp Tea"... with gummi worms for garnish!
