Watermelon Soda aka Party Punch – Video Post

Posted in: Beverage Ideas, Dessert Ideas, Food Photos, Party Ideas, Toddler Approved, Video Posts | 12 Comments

As I say I the video, this is my idea to make a healthy party punch. I just think there are so many possibilities to make fun, fruity drinks without the use of sugar and soda.

You could make this more “adult” by adding your favorite rum but my intention was for the little ones.

Watermelon Soda

This could of course be doubled or tripled! I even make single serves with 1 cup watermelon and 1/2 cup seltzer. That would make 2 servings.

Have fun with it!

  • 3 cups (456g) of diced watermelon
  • 8 oz seltzer water (club soda)
  • ½ orange sliced thin
  • 4-5 strawberries
  • ice to keep it cool

Puree the watermelon in the blender. Mix with the seltzer.

Add the fruit and let sit until ready to serve. Add ice just before serving.

I have a tasty idea for you! Freeze pureed fruit – like strawberries, raspberries and watermelon. Freeze in an ice cube tra and add to your summer lemonade or iced tea. The drinks down’t get watered down and you get a sweet summer treat. I like to freeze plain old lemonade cubes, too. Would also be good tossed into cold club soda. You can also use these with some yogurt, honey and skim milk to make super-quick smoothies. Yummy!

In the summer, my husband bicycles (50 – 75 miles in a day) and drinks alot of gatorade. I make gatorade cubes for his sport bottles. Keeps the drink cold and doesn’t water it down.

    enjoy!

This looks great! Perfect timing too – I’m having a brunch spa party in a few weeks and wanted to serve a healthy drink at it. This will be perfect!

I tried a variation on this but just used regular water instead of club soda. It was tasty! I’m looking forward to trying it with club soda and then putting in a bunch of fruit pieces in the bottom.

Also I love that you’ve used a vase as a pitcher!

Love this idea! I’m going to try and round up the stuff for it tonight. Plus I LOVE sparkling drinks (Just did a whole post dedicated to the simplest combo I can think of – lemon juice ice cubes with a little agave and sparkling water). This one sounds like another delicious option to add to my repetoire!

Great idea! I was looking for a healthy punch I could serve at a womens spooky luncheon. Red color fits the bill and we are on weight watchers. Thanks for having the points calculated for us. Using a vase is another example of being creative with what you have. Love the idea! Thank you so much! You were very helpful.
