  • Put everything in the crockpot.
    1 cup steel-cut oats, 32 oz chicken broth or stock, 2-3 boneless chicken breasts, 4-5 carrots, 1 15 oz can great northern beans, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Cook on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Before serving, shred the chicken breasts with two forks.
  • I’ve been putting oats in my soups for some time but this was the first time I went with a thicker stew.
