With all this sweetener talk, I thought I’d take my hand at making my own oatmeal. Not that I haven’t made my own oatmeal before but normaly, I rely on a pre-made packages that are chock full of artificial sweeteners like ones I use in Apple Pie Oatmeal.
As requested, a demonstration of the Meat Storage – Frozen Flat tip. I love when I get a suggestion. It makes it so much easier!
Of course, in addition to the meat storing, I babble on about a few other things as well. ;~P
About a year ago I was distraught to find that Trader Joe’s discontinued one of may favorite summer treats, their Southwestern Turkey Burger. I think they replaced it with some chicken burger but it’s just not the same.
A few days ago, a reader emailed me a question about Lemon Poppy Seed muffins and I couldn’t get the thought of them out of my mind. So tonight, after the toddler went to bed I hit the kitchen. I was hit by the baking bug! Weird, I know.
I’m calling this take 1 because literally this is my first attempt to make them. I based the batter on my Whole Wheat Banana Muffins and I winged the rest based on smell and taste. Read the rest of this post
Join me on my crazy hour after work. Don’t worry , the video isn’t actually an hour but I thought I’d invite you into my kitchen while I prepared a new quick side dish for dinner tonight. I totally winged it (I’m sure you can tell by the video).
I’m happy to report the dish was a success! Both the husband and the toddler asked for seconds and I barely have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
I didn’t even realize I won a Bloggy Award last month!!
The Review was very complimentary and I appreciate it so much! I really work hard on this site and honestly, I call it my second child :~P
Thanks for the recognition guys!… Read the rest of this post
This was my Super Bowl treat, to myself. The husband had one, said he liked it and never looked back. How, the heck, does he do that? I thought they were super addictive and the shape made them perfect to scoop up my favorite salsa!
A few weeks ago, I went out to lunch with two of my old friends and colleagues. When I eat with them, they always take me to the coolest places I would never find on my own. This time it was Dogwood Gourmet., an awesome Baltimore catering company focusing on local farms and business for their menu items.
We all started our meal with an Autumn Squash soup and it was DELICIOUS! They garnished it with roasted pumpkin seeds and cabbage. Honestly, it was the best squash soup I’ve had.
I’m tired of not being able to find Black bean dip in the stores. Am I the ONLY person who likes it or something? There only seems to be a few brands that carry it and not many stores stock it so those of us that like it are, for lack of a better phrase, $hit out of luck.
You can whip up this simple dish with leftover spaghetti squash. It’s fast easy and VERY tasty (if I don’t say so myself)!
I have to confess this video isn’t my favorite. First of all, no toddler, he was napping. Plus I mess up a bit, run out of things to tell you and misspell “delicious” (it’s really time consuming to fix so I’m leaving it in there) and the husband distracts me in the end. However, even with all that, Read the rest of this post
HOLY CRAP!! THE HUSBAND ATE CAULIFLOWER!!!
Let me say that again, I’m having a hard time believing it myself. The HUSBAND ate CAULIFLOWER!
Ok, my initial shock is over. Let me back up and tell you the story.
This is the quickest easiest marinade for chicken I’ve every come up with. Both the husband and the toddler normally ask for seconds!
I prefer to grill the chicken on the BBQ but in the winter, I use the George Forman. Ether way it’s a quick dinner! Read the rest of this post
