As I say the video, I had the idea of showing you how the toddler and I eat pomegranate last year but my plans were foiled. Apparently you can’t get pomegranates out of season, at least where I live. So I had to wait until they were in stores again. When I saw them this weekend I HAD to pick some up. Read the rest of this post
Don’t get your hopes up, it’s more oatmeal then pie. And since we are in full fledge fall I just had to do something my canned pumpkin. Just HAD to! ;~P
I’m getting more into oatmeal but not the pre-packages flavors. I really want to find ways to make it fun and tasty at home without using a pre-flavored package with all the junk in it. Read the rest of this post
I admit it. I was scared to try Bulgur. I didn’t even know what it really was? A grain? a special king of rice? What? WHAT?
Geesh! Doesn’t there seem to be so many new and crazy options in the whole grain department anymore. Right?
Yup, I’m at it again. Messing with those Ramen noodles (Click here to see my other Ramen ideas). Here’s the deal, it’s Friday, I’m in desperate need of a grocery shopping trip. I just got home from a 2 hour workout with an awesome trainer who kicked my butt and, dude, I was HUNGRY.
…and I mean quick! Seriously, the video is 15 minutes. It took me 15 minutes to make a warm, healthy home cooked breakfast for the toddler before school. That 15 minutes included a bit of discipline, a pumpkin show off, a mini-commercial, the toddler cracking my eggs and scooping my spices. It was fun, fast, healthy, and everything I want family time to be (although, I do have to curb the toddler’s self expression to talk to you! LOL) Read the rest of this post
This was a quick idea after having nothing ready for dinner. I was fighting off the urge to order in and I needed to please both the husband and the toddler. Now that’s no easy task! :~)
Somehow I succeeded! The only thing the husband said was it could have used a bit more garlic. I, on the other hand, thought it was the perfect amount. The hint was there without being overpowering and I couldn’t add more anyway, I used all that I had! Read the rest of this post
Oh my Word! I LOVE this soup! I found myself Friday with a crap load of veggies and craving for a nice healthy bowl of warmth. And boy was it perfect timing as a cold front just came in!
I made this on Friday during a complete food fest. The toddler was home form school and we spent the better part of the day in the kitchen like two happy clams chatting and munching. It was so much fun!
In this week’s video the toddler and I make on of my older recipe ideas for dinner. There’s lots of toddler interruptions, a pee pee break, a fart, the boob shot and just overall toddler-cooking craziness!
Equipped with nothing but an aging cucumber, a handful of baby carrots, some cooked chicken and my pantry I whipped this lunch up today. It was simple and tasty I only wish I had a few more ingredients. Maybe some sprouts, sesame seeds or even celery.
This is another one that’s going to make mom laugh. Besides onion that, as a child, I despised and now can’t live without mushrooms were a close second for most hated veggie. Yet again my mom was right, they are GOOD! especially stuffed! (and in eggs. Yes, I actually had mushrooms twice today.)
This weeks video was recorded completely impromptu tonight. Honestly, I totally decided to skip the gym and make brownies instead. How bad is that?!? I just felt out of it and you can tell! For example, I can’t remember what a toothpick is AND I say it’s Tuesday when it’s really Wednesday. Just out of it! Read the rest of this post
