Red Peppers have been on sale at Trader Joes for 2 weeks now. I think they think I’m crazy when I check out with two huge bags full. Honestly, I bought 12 this week. I love them. Little Guy loves them, and I’m working on the baby (click here for our latest baby food adventure.)

I’m obsessed with winter squash. OBSESSED.
In the last 3 years Delicata squash, Spaghetti squash, and Butternut squash have all become mainstay in my diet. These weren’t things I naturally gravitated towards. I don’t remember eating them growing up, and if I was actually offered roasted winter squash I probably would have turned my nose up.
Little Guy and I just had to do something fun for Halloween this morning. We just HAD to. It’s HALLOWEEN! Only our favorite holiday ever. Well, my favorite. Little Guy says it’s tied with Christmas and Easter for him. He evaluates holidays based on the number of presents and/or candy he gets. Unfortunately, I only had 4oz of leftover ground turkey when I made this experiment. It came out better than I ever expected and it would have even been better if I could have made it with more ground turkey.
The pear/ginger combination was awesome with the turkey. It was a fun spin and I will make it again once I get my hands on more meat. The only thing I’ll do differently next time is double everything and add an egg. Even though the burgers stayed together I think they needed a bit more glue. Read the rest of this post
