School Lunch Ideas

So sorry for yet another hiatus. I blame the combination of days off school, a busy mom (aka me) and buying requests from a certain 2nd grader. It’s true, I’ve been letting him buy more and more. I’m grateful I have that option when we’re running out the door trying to not to miss the bus.

That being said, I have a few pictures of lunches I took but never posted. I’ll share those plus some new ones as we make them. The truth is, I wonder how useful these posts are becoming as I feel like I send him to the school with pretty much the same things week after week. The balancing act of finding variety with things he likes, that are packable and in stock at the house is, well, difficult to say the least. I’m sure you fellow parents understand.

Anyway, this lunch was courtesy of a night out. I love when we have leftover edememe! It’s one of our favorite and he really enjoys it in his lunch. What you see in the bring home picture is mostly empty pods.

I do appreciate the posts as it inspires my own work lunches. I do understand where you are coming from. I eat the same stuff too. Maybe you could post on occasion like when a new item is added to the mix. I don’t remember you packing Kohlrabi Slices before. I was wondering what they are.

I don’t comment much (or at all), but I wanted to let you know that I do like these lunch posts. While I don’t have school-age kids yet, these posts still help with coming up with lunch ideas for my toddler. It’s a nice reminder that the food items don’t have to “go together” or be anything elaborate, just a variety of healthy choices.

I LOVE your lunch posts! I don’t have kids (won’t have any), but I love seeing what you put together, so I can get ideas for my own school lunches. As a fourth grade teacher who only has 15-20 minutes to scarf down lunch, I love the easy grab things you choose for the 2nd grader. They work really well for me, too! :D
