I relate to your son. I am typically a very open and healthy eater, but solid egg yolks make me choke. It might have something to do with how my mom put egg yolk.in.everything just for me as a kid thanks to my passionate dislike for meat (LOVED veggies tho!).

I have to third the grape tomatoes comment. I have an almost unhealthy obsession with the veggie, but this year I looked with them with a subconscious disgust and even thrown them out twice.

As for pistachios - talk about addicting!

I agree with Krista, the grape tomatoes that i have purchased this summer taste "off" somehow. And, I don't care for yolks either...but he is eating the egg whites which are good for him! :)

LOL, I'm the same way with yolks. I've never really developed a love for them no matter how they are cooked. One of my kids loves a runny yolk for fried/poached eggs and the other kid won't touch eggs at all. I also noticed recently that some of the red cherry/grape tomatoes taste weird this year. I've been buying the sungolds instead for the last 6 weeks or so and they seem to be sweet and lovely like I remember the red ones being last year.

The starfruit is so pretty!

I just made shoyu (soy sauce) hardboiled eggs last night, and thought they were amazing! Not sure if Ryan like things salty, but I actually marinated them in a ziploc bag of a mixture made of even parts soy sauce, mirin (japanese rice wine vinegar) and sugar, that was previously heated on the stove. The results were delicious!

Here's a recipe that's along the same lines but a bit different. It's made my kids want to eat the yolks!
