The other day I was just too hot to eat breakfast. It was humid. I just came home from a run. Sweat was dripping down my face. There was no way I was cooking a damn thing.
Instead I looked to the freezer and found this…
I’m not the biggest fan of throwing all the fruits in the mix into one big smoothie. So instead I separated out these babies…
and focused just on the peaches.
At first I was going to use yogurt but with the fruit being frozen that would be too thick. Instead I went with almond milk and some protein powder to make a creamy drinkable breakfast. Here’s what I did…
- 150g of frozen peaches (approx size of a large peach)
- 6oz Unsweetened Almond milk
- 1 Scoop Unsweetened/unflavored Protein powder (like this)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
The resulting smoothie was not particularly sweet. You could add a drizzle of honey or a packet of splenda. I will note, however, I had a hard time keeping the 7 year old from drinking it all on me.
I will also not that the peach garnish once melted dipped into the smoothie was amazing!
