Recently we’ve introduced yogurt and mixed it with some homemade puree. He likes it. Although you really can’t tell from the photos. Can you say “MOOOODY”….
A Little Appetizer.
This is a quick homemade teether. That adventure is coming soon!
Started with a Ripe Pear.
Big Brother LOVES pears, except when they get bruised up. Little Bean doesn't seem to mind yet. 🙂
Leave the Skin On.
I leave the skin intact and cut off the flesh.
Puree.
Plop in the blender, small food processor, or bullet. Mine was so ripe it didn't require water but a dash wouldn't hurt to get things started.
Prepare the Yogurt
Make sure it's full fat.
I used greek for the higher protein content, but my doctor said any full fat is good.
Add the Pear Puree.
Swirl.
I like leaving ribbons of the puree. It makes it pretty. 🙂
Taste Test Time
Yikes!
Actually. It wasn't the yogurt at all. He was just in a MOOD.
Empty Bowl.
Content, full baby. I don't quite want to say happy. He really was having an off day.
Wash it down.
He's been having sips of water after meals.
Back to the Teether.
Just a little messier. 😉

I have 2 I buy. Trader Joe's carries a full fat greek and so does my local grocery store called Weis, it has Cabots full fat greek in a blue large tub. It looks like this.. http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-cabot-yogurt-i271693
Hope that helps!
P.S. Non of the popular brands has full fat as far as I know (fage, oikos, etc)

I am loving all your ideas and recipes!! We started solids about a month ago and I've been getting bored feeding him the same sweet potatoes, avocado/pear purees, so I'm really excited to try new stuff from here! I was curious to where you found full-fat yogurt? I can't seem to find any plain, full-fat yogurt anywhere. I recently made some home made and it went really well, but if I ever need to purchase some in a pinch, I would appreciate you sharing where you found some! Most greek yogurt or plain yogurt I found was all non-fat! Thank you!!

Thanks for doing this series! I'm looking forward to trying out some of these recipes when my baby-to-be (5 weeks to go!) is ready for solids.

Can't wait for the teether recipe- I've been wanting one! Also, I just got a magic bullet and I LOVE it. Thanks for sharing!

I love that you try to feed him good, nutritious food! I have so many friends with young children who feed them CRAP. ALL the time! 🙂
