  • Big Slice of Cantaloupe
  • A Few Scooby Snack
  • Red and Yellow Pepper Strips
  • Water

What Came Home?

School Lunch Ideas

All those pods were empty! He was smart enough to eat the cantaloupe and then use that container for the empties. That made me smile. :)

I love it! I can't get my husband to eat a large variety of veggies, so I always make sure that his favorites are in the house. I get a variety of bell peppers and he just eats them raw, along with tomatoes. He'll take that and some fruit to work and be a happy guy. Such an awesome lunch! Reply

Wow, your kid is amazing. He must be the coolest kid at the lunch table... "What'd Ryan bring TODAY...?" I aspire to be like you. I love how you only put a few Scooby Snacks instead of the whole baggie (we buy them in the "single serving" bags). Good idea. I'll have to implement that, because that whole bag is like 200 or so calories, and my kid would eat every one of them, then ignore the rest of the lunch. Reply

I need to try this Edamame stuff... everyone raves about thmem!!So excited to see how Ryan eats is wonderful! Your cantelope is fresh and not from the areas that are having issues with them right? Its so sad when we try to eat healthy and it kills people! Reply

That is so funny! My kids actually love edamame so I back it all the time. I think they must just find eating it with their fingers fun. Very creative lunchboxing! ;) Reply

Just curious Roni, is that all Ryan eats all day or does he have snacks too? I have to pack lunch plus two snacks for my son. They have a" balanced day" so they eat three times evenly spaced out throughout the day. Is that the same for your school? (I am in Canada.) I love your ideas and am so inspired by the pictures and what was left behind! Reply

He has one snack. It's normally a piece of fruit, nuts or pretzels. Glad you are getting ideas! Reply
