They vary, your right. I didn't weight this one but I should have. If you are really counting, your best bet would just to calculate the NI for the size potato you have, I think I entered medium in nutritiondata.com when calculating.

Roni-About how big are the sweet potatoes that you buy? I know they all vary in size, but some are really quite large and some are really very small? I make baked sweet potatoes last night and I took the smaller and gave my husband the larger. I weighed mine and it was about 126g. I definitely could have eaten more but it really was just the right size, I think, for a "normal" portion. So, I am just wondered what size (roughly) potato is your nutritional info based on?

Jami - Sweet potatoes do cook faster than white. I normally start them at the same time and then just pull the sweet one once it's soft to the touch OR I start the white in the microwave for a minute or two and it helps even out the cooking time.

We tried this the other night...Very GOOD! I could have used a mandolin or something more efficient to cut them, but it was ok. We cooked them a little longer, they need to look like Roni's pic to be cooked thru.

Sherry - I'm not sure of this will work. I've attempted it once but I can't remember how long i cooked them for. You might want to cut a little thinner as I think the roasting is what really gets to the inside. If you just squish grill the outside might cook to fast for the inside. Know what I mean?

I love sweet potatoes! I prefer them over white now. I make them several different ways depending on my mood. I use cayenne and garlic or cayenne and cinnamon. Those are my go to seasonings. If I want to mimic the flavors of a sweet casserole, I mix together maple and vanilla extracts with apple pie spice. I mix the extracts with a little water and splash of olive oil and toss the potatoes in it so the flavors are properly dispersed. These would be great with a morroccan spiced burger or jerk chicken.

I only have an indoor grill (the outdoor one broke from getting knocked around in a winter storm!) I wonder if it would work on a Panini Griddler? I'll give it a try and then post about it. How long do you think they'll need to cook if I close the grill?

Thanks so much!

Totally. Just make them traditional sweet potato fries. Actually the potato would probably soak up the marinade even better.
