Quick Berry Protein Shake

I’m on a protein for breakfast kick at the moment. Normally I stick with eggs making an omelet or cracking open a hard boiled but this weekend I had a full house and they wiped me clean of eggs!
What’s a girl to do?
I decided to whip up a quick smoothie with what I had on hand. The result was DELICIOUS! So simple and such a perfectly light protein filled breakfast.
- About 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 5 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup (4oz) chocolate almond milk
- 1 scoop of protein powder (I used Any Whey
)
Blend and serve!
You could totally use fresh strawberries I just didn’t have any. If you do through a couple of ice cubes in there to get the smoothie/shake texture.

This looks so good, I want to LICK my computer screen!! :P
I am going to make this soon, I think! Thanks for sharing!
Looks great! I’ve never tried chocolate almond milk.
oh my.. it’s SO good. The vanilla is good to and a little lighter. Either would work in this, so would regular milk but you may have to add a touch of sweetener then.
Yummy! I usually use reg milk but maybe I should switch to almond milk. Is the calcium the same in almond milk?
Hi Roni, Looks delicious! Do you use regular almond milk or unsweetened? Thanks~Michele
Does the protein shake keep you as full as the omelet for as long?
Valerie – You know… it did. I’m weird though. I usually get “hungry” about an hour after I eat anything but then I feel full if I wait it out. Not sure if that makes any sense.
I am the same way so it makes perfect sense to me. The trick for me is to ignore the hunger at that hour mark and get through it.
Roni, you are a lifesaver, once again! I’ve had several problems lately relating to my morning routine: one is that I must fix breakfast for the kids in the morning, rather than relying on my mother-in-law to do it when they get to her house; two is that I barely have time for that; three is that I’ve been drinking coffee just because I like to have something in my hand to sip on while I drive; four is that when I get to work to eat breakfast (my usual routine), I get busy quickly and sometimes skip breakfast; plus, I’m a bit worn out on my usual breakfast of Kashi cereal and Silk.
I was considering all this, and decided to check out your website to see if you had any recent breakfast ideas. This one is PERFECT! Not only will it provide something for me to sip on, and get breakfast in me before I get busy at work, but it will also be a great solution for my kids’ quick morning breakfast. They will love to have a smoothie, and they won’t even know they’re getting protein and fiber too! Brilliant! I’m going to pick up my first ever container of protein powder tonight.
THANK YOU!
