OOooh....I just discovered quinoa. I have been looking for food that has a good amount of iron in it to feed my son, since at his last check-up he was low on iron and someone suggested quinoa. I haven't yet figured out how to feed it to him. We made some for ourselves with fish and just boiled it in vegetable stock.

I'm definitely going to try this recipe though! I think he'd eat this for sure, he loves the apple cinnamon oatmeal I make him.

Thanks for the great ideas!

this is great! i stir in a handful of raisins while its still hot so they get all plump and soft. i'm going to try stirring in a spoonful of plain yogurt the next time i have it as well, want to see if its good with a little added creaminess. i've been experimenting with a pumpkin breakfast quinoa using canned pumpkin and spices, but i haven't quite come up with a satisfactory recipe yet-it keeps ending up kind of bland. any ideas?

Perfect breakfast recipe! Fast, easy, and it kept me full for hours. It's amazing with a handful of fresh blueberries stirred in, and I added some milk to cool it down a bit - I couldn't wait for it to be a safe temperature before eating. Thanks for the recipe! :-)

This should be perfect, I can't wait to try it out. Well written article! You should post it on Wacanai.com ( http://www.wacanai.com/intro ). They have a bunch of similar articles and you can link it back to your website. I have one posted on it and it is awesome because they give you some graphs to put on your page to track how many people read your article and it tells you how useful they thought it was. I think a lot of people could use to read your stuff and I think this will help get your articles out there more!

Thanks for the recipe. Passover's coming up and breakfast options get very limited. Matzoh and cream cheese only work for so many days and the Passover cereals cost an arm and a leg for something that makes cardboard sound tasty. While grains (oatmeal, normal cereal) are forbidden, Quinoa is permitted since it's not really a grain. (It's a seed and, from my reading, related to beets and spinach.) All of the ingredients in this are kosher for Passover and readily available. I'll definitely make this during Passover. (I think I'll need to run to the store and stock up on some more Quinoa. One 12oz box will *DEFINITELY* not last for 8 days!!!)
