Strawberry Papaya Smoothie

Posted in: Beverage Ideas, Breakfast Ideas, Food Photos, Snack Ideas, Toddler Approved | 9 Comments

WOW WOW WOW I LOVED THIS!

Sorry, I really had to scream that. It WAS that good. After trying the papaya, I wasn’t that impressed. It’s good but not the type of fruit I’d snack on just raw like watermelon or grapes. So after the toddler and finished the video I got the smoothie idea. The papaya texture is just perfect for it!

As you can tell from the pictures, the toddler was MORE then smitten with our new smoothie creation. And Mom, well she was happy no additional sweeteners were needed!

  • 1 cup papaya (140 g)
  • ¼ cup non fat unsweetened yogurt (60g)
  • 4 large frozen strawberries

Blend all ingredients together and serve! I used a hand blender as I did in my Breakfast Smoothie video.

Hmmm…I’m confused. If one cup of papaya has three grams of fiber as you mentioned in your papaya video post, why does the nutritional info above have only one gram of fiber when a cup of papaya is used? Or am I jus tmaking a mistake and did you divide the recipe up?

WOW good catch! I just ran the data again, it is 3 for the smoothie! Thanks for catching it!

No problem! I’m on WW too, so anytime I can squeeze extra fiber out of something, you can bet I’ll do it. :) I made this smoothie this morning with my protein powder and added sosme Benefiber and it was so great, so thanks for the awesome recipe!

I’m also eating the Tortilla-less Tortilla soup as we speak and have to go home tonight and make another batch of your 100% whole wheat banana muffins. I added some dark chocolate chips and my hubby, parents and little brother devoured them! Awesome recipes all-around!

    This does sound good!
Are you freezing fresh strawberries for it or using store-bought frozen berries? I’ve heard of frozen banana giving smoothies a better texture, does the berry do the same thing?
Thanks for sharing, we may make this tonight as our papaya is getting a tad soft.

Just store bought frozen! It’s ads great texture and you don’t need any ice cubes! ‘
